The Rivers State House of Assembly, led by Speaker Victor Oko-Jumbo, has confirmed Emmanuel Frank-Fubara as a commissioner nominee following a request by Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
The confirmation occurred during a plenary session on Monday, where the Speaker read the governor’s correspondence, prompting the Assembly to screen and ratify the nominee.
The lawmakers meticulously scrutinised Frank-Fubara’s credentials and qualifications before giving their approval. During the screening, Frank-Fubara highlighted his extensive experience serving on various state committees, which he believes has prepared him to excel in any portfolio assigned to him.
“I pledge to perform my duties with utmost dedication and commitment, promising a hundred per cent serviceable performance,” Frank-Fubara assured the Assembly.
Deputy Speaker Timothy Orubieninmigha praised Frank-Fubara’s impeccable character, expressing confidence in his ability to serve the state with distinction. “His qualifications and experience make him well-suited for the role,” Orubieninmigha stated.
Following a debate on the nominee’s suitability, the Speaker called for a voice vote, which resulted in a unanimous endorsement of Frank-Fubara’s appointment.
With the lawmakers’ approval secured, Frank-Fubara’s appointment as commissioner was officially confirmed. The House of Assembly then adjourned until Thursday.
