Federal Government Launches Portal for Vehicle Conversion to Compressed Natural Gas

The Federal Government of Nigeria has launched an online application portal for citizens interested in converting their vehicles from petrol (Premium Motor Spirit) to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). The initiative, announced by the National Orientation Agency (NOA), aims to make the transition to CNG more accessible and affordable for Nigerians.

The portal offers flexible payment plans, allowing applicants to spread the cost of conversion through monthly installments. According to the statement, the process has been designed to be hassle-free, with support provided at every stage to ensure a smooth transition.

“Switching to Compressed Natural Gas is now more accessible than ever,” the statement reads. “With flexible payment plans tailored to fit your budget, transitioning from petrol to CNG has never been smoother or more affordable.”

The benefits of CNG highlighted by the NOA include:

  • Cost Savings: Significant reductions in fuel costs.
  • Environmental Impact: A cleaner, greener alternative to petrol.
  • Enhanced Engine Life: Reduced wear and tear on vehicles.
  • Safety and Reliability: CNG has a proven track record of safety and dependable performance.

For those interested in making the switch, the NOA encourages Nigerians to visit the official portal at gocng.ng to apply and take advantage of the new payment options.
