RCCG Opens Investigation into Homosexuality Allegations Against Leaders, Calls for Evidence Submission

The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has launched an investigation into allegations of homosexuality involving two of its leaders, Pastor Ayorinde AdeBello and Deacon Oke Mayowa, who have been suspended pending the outcome of the inquiry. In a statement issued late Tuesday, the church urged members and the public to submit any pertinent evidence to aid in the investigation.

Reports surfaced on Tuesday detailing allegations of homosexual misconduct involving young church members, prompting RCCG to appoint the Special Assistant to the General Overseer on Administration to lead a thorough inquiry within two weeks. Pastor Sunday Akande, RCCG’s National Overseer, emphasized the importance of substantiated evidence, stating, “Only evidence directly related to this case will be considered; other submissions will not be reviewed.”

Individuals with relevant information are encouraged to forward their evidence via email at rccgadm@gmail.com or through the dedicated phone number 09039000700. The church’s statement highlighted its commitment to justice and a transparent resolution of the matter.

As a precaution, both youth ministers have been placed on indefinite suspension and relieved of all ministerial duties until the investigation is concluded. Pastor Akande reiterated RCCG’s foundational principles of holiness and the organization’s zero tolerance for actions contradicting its core values.

“We are dedicated to transparency and will not cover up wrongful conduct,” the statement affirmed. The church appreciates any assistance in this investigation and urges anyone with tangible evidence to come forward, reinforcing its commitment to uphold the integrity of its teachings and practices.
