All is set for the final phase of the 2024 Beach Volleyball Star Tour, which will take place in Bauchi City, Bauchi State, from November 11 to 18 at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium. The event promises to be a significant showcase for the sport, with 24 teams competing for the grand prize.
DCP Stephen Hasso (RTD), the Chairman of the Local Organising Committee, expressed gratitude to Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed for supporting the hosting of this prestigious event. Hasso noted the significance of this tour, particularly following Engineer Musa Nimrod’s appointment as President of the CAVB Beach Volleyball Commission, which he believes has ushered in a new era for beach volleyball in Nigeria.
“It is a new beginning for beach volleyball in Nigeria, as Bauchi State will host the final phase of the 2024 National Beach Volleyball Star/Open Tour, thanks to Musa Nimrod’s leadership in Africa,” Hasso stated. He highlighted Bauchi’s commitment to the sport, mentioning that the state has consistently presented competitive teams and is now home to some of the best beach volleyball players in Africa.
The tour is poised to be one of the most important beach volleyball events in West Africa, with Nigeria being the first country in Sub-Saharan Africa to organize the President’s Cup and the Star/Open Tour. Hasso called upon beach volleyball enthusiasts from the North Central and North East regions to attend and witness the thrilling competition.
Additionally, he revealed plans to enhance the appeal of beach volleyball to individuals and private investors, aiming to attract further investment in the sport.
As the countdown to the tour begins, anticipation builds for an exciting week of top-level beach volleyball in Bauchi, showcasing the talents of local and regional teams.
