Abia Lawmaker Empowers Over 2,000 Constituents with Materials Worth Millions

Amaobi Ogah, the federal lawmaker representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi federal constituency at the National Assembly, has distributed empowerment items worth millions of naira to over 2,000 constituents as part of his one-year anniversary in office.

Empowerment Highlights

The items distributed include:

  • Sienna cars and mini-buses
  • Motorcycles and lady motorcycles
  • Sewing machines and grinding machines
  • Vulcanizing machines, generator sets, and car wash machines
  • Hair dryers and ultra-modern 9-seater tricycles
  • Mini-pickup buses
  • Fertilizer bags
  • Cash awards

Speaking at the event, Ogah emphasized that the empowerment initiative was a result of strategic lobbying and a commitment to addressing immediate challenges in his constituency. “This is just the beginning,” he said, adding that the 2024 Christmas season will also feature significant gestures.

Achievements and Future Plans

Ogah highlighted his contributions to infrastructure, road construction, health, and education, as well as scholarships awarded to 88 students—22 on full sponsorship by him and 66 through his foundation.

He also shared legislative progress, including his bill advocating for the creation of Etiti State, which has passed the second reading, and his push to make malaria treatment free in Nigerian hospitals.

Call for Constructive Criticism

Ogah encouraged constructive criticism, stating that it helps foster progress. He urged opponents involved in legal challenges over his election victory to cease distractions, emphasizing his focus on delivering the “dividends of democracy.”

Endorsements and Testimonials

The National Vice Chairman of the Labour Party, Ceekay Igara, praised Ogah’s performance, noting that he is “representing us very well and making us proud.”

A jubilant beneficiary, Lady Grace Ibeh, expressed gratitude for receiving a mini-pickup, pledging to use it for commercial purposes to enhance her livelihood.

This initiative underscores Ogah’s vision to empower his constituents to become employers of labor and wealth creators, fostering sustainable development in the constituency.
