Lagos, Nigeria – Popular Nigerian media personality Nedu Wazobia has announced his resignation from the hit podcast The Honest Bunch following allegations of demanding sexual favors in exchange for movie roles.
In a statement shared on Instagram on February 14, 2025, Nedu revealed that the decision to step down was driven by the toll that public scrutiny and false accusations had taken on him.
“The past week has brought a lot into perspective for me,” Nedu wrote. “Hosting The Honest Bunch Podcast has been an incredible journey… But with that responsibility has come an overwhelming level of scrutiny, antagonism, and unfounded accusations that have now begun to take a personal toll.”
Nedu emphasized that his resignation was necessary for his well-being and to preserve the integrity of the podcast. “This is not a decision I take lightly, but one I believe is necessary—for my peace of mind, for my family, and for the integrity of the show itself,” he stated. “I sincerely hope this decision brings an end to the negativity surrounding my name and allows The Honest Bunch Podcast to continue thriving.”
The controversy erupted after social media critic Martins Ortse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, accused Nedu of soliciting sexual favors from a female content creator named Jojo in exchange for movie roles. The allegations surfaced amid a heated dispute between Ortse and comedian Deeone, who had previously insinuated that Ortse was gay during an appearance on The Honest Bunch Podcast.
In response to the accusations, Ortse threatened to reveal more names of celebrities allegedly involved in similar activities, further intensifying the scandal.
Nedu’s resignation has sparked widespread reactions on social media, with fans and critics alike weighing in on the controversy. While some have expressed disappointment over his departure, others have praised his decision to prioritize his well-being.
The Honest Bunch podcast, known for its candid discussions and bold perspectives, has been a popular platform for tackling social issues and controversial topics. As the show moves forward without Nedu, fans are eager to see how the podcast will navigate the ongoing controversy and maintain its reputation for honest conversations.
