From Passion to Profession

Born in Akwa Ibom State and raised in Orlu, Imo State, Amarachi’s journey into interior design began with a deep-seated passion for decorating spaces. “I’ve always been fascinated by the power of design to transform environments,” she said.

A graduate of Abia State University, Uturu, where she studied Industrial Chemistry, Amarachi took the bold step of pursuing her passion professionally in 2020. Under the mentorship of Miss White, she turned her love for interior decoration into a thriving business.

Like many young entrepreneurs, Amarachi faced initial challenges breaking into the competitive industry. “The biggest challenge was gaining trust as a young business owner. People wanted to see proof of my work before committing,” she explained.

To enhance her expertise and build credibility, she pursued advanced business courses sponsored by EDC/TNY, equipping her with the skills needed to grow her business strategically. In January 2025, Amarachi participated in the SBA Conference organized by Mrs. Stella Adebayo in collaboration with Lenco in Victoria Island, Lagos—a significant milestone that expanded her network and business prospects.

As the sixth of seven children, Amarachi credits her family’s support for her resilience and determination. She envisions Gelinas Interior and Exterior Decoration becoming a leading brand known for creativity, elegance, and exceptional customer service. “My goal is to create spaces that inspire and bring joy,” she stated.
