Aiyedatiwa Warns Appointees Against Indolence, Sets Performance Metrics

AKURE, Nigeria – Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has declared a firm stance against corruption and inefficiency within his administration, warning newly appointed officials that his government will not tolerate any act of indolence.

Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony of newly appointed and reappointed members of the State Executive Council on Thursday in Akure, the governor emphasized the need for diligence and commitment to governance.

“Our administration will have zero tolerance for corruption, indolence, and disloyalty. We demand excellent performance from all appointees, for that is the primary reason we were voted into office by the good people of Ondo State,” Aiyedatiwa stated.

He charged the new officials to align with the administration’s seven-point developmental agenda, tagged ‘OUR EASE,’ which is designed to accelerate the state’s growth.

To ensure efficiency and accountability, the governor announced the introduction of performance-measuring techniques to track the effectiveness of government officials.

Aiyedatiwa also stressed the importance of teamwork, urging appointees to work closely with career officers, permanent secretaries, and accounting officers in various ministries, departments, and agencies.

The newly inaugurated officials include:

  • Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti – Secretary to the State Government
  • Dr. Olukayode Ajulo, SAN – Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice
  • Mrs. Omowumi Isaac – Commissioner for Finance
  • Engr. Johnson Alabi – Special Adviser on Power
  • Dr. Seun Osamaye – Special Adviser on Women Affairs
  • Comrade Bola Taiwo – Special Adviser on Union Matters and Special Duties
  • Prof. Simidele Odimayo – Special Adviser on Health
  • Engr. Abiola Olawoye – Special Adviser on Infrastructure, Lands, and Housing

Responding on behalf of the appointees, Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti, the new Secretary to the State Government, expressed gratitude to the governor for the trust placed in them. He assured that the officials would work diligently to support the administration’s vision and deliver meaningful governance to the people of Ondo State.

Governor Aiyedatiwa reiterated his commitment to effective and transparent leadership, calling on all government officials to uphold the trust placed in them by the citizens of Ondo State.
