FAAN Closes Lagos Airport Runway for Rehabilitation

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced the closure of Runway 18R/36L at Murtala Muhammed Airport, Ikeja, for rehabilitation work.

The closure, which began at 3 a.m. on Monday, is part of ongoing maintenance efforts to keep the runway in optimal condition, according to a statement by FAAN’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Mrs. Obiageli Orah.

Orah explained that the rehabilitation focuses on the asphalt phase of the A2 Taxiway link.

“There will be no disruption to flight operations during this period as all flights will be redirected to the alternative runway, 18L/36R,” she assured.

FAAN reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the safety, security, and comfort of all airport users.
