Super Falcons Maintain Africa’s Top Spot in Latest FIFA Women’s Ranking

The Super Falcons of Nigeria have retained their position as Africa’s top-ranked women’s football team, holding steady at 36th place globally in the latest FIFA/Coca-Cola Women’s World Ranking released on March 6, 2025.

Nigeria continues to dominate women’s football on the continent, with the top five African teams ranked as follows:

  1. Nigeria (36th globally)
  2. South Africa – Banyana Banyana (53rd globally)
  3. Morocco (61st globally)
  4. Zambia (62nd globally)
  5. Ghana (66th globally)

Super Falcons’ Recent Performance

During the latest ranking period, the Super Falcons recorded two wins and one loss:

2-0 win over Algeria
4-1 victory against Algeria
2-1 defeat to France’s Les Bleues

Despite the mixed results, Nigeria remains unchallenged in African women’s football and continues to hold a respectable position in the global rankings.
