FG Extends Federal Civil Service Application Deadline to March 17

Abuja – The Federal Government of Nigeria has extended the deadline for applications into the Federal Civil Service to March 17, 2025, following complaints from applicants about difficulties accessing the recruitment portal.

The Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) had initially announced the recruitment exercise on January 27, 2025, offering over 70 positions across various ministries, departments, and agencies. The original deadline was March 10, 2025, but was extended in response to technical issues experienced by applicants.

Portal Access Challenges Prompt Extension

Speaking on the matter, FCSC spokesperson Hassan Taiwo acknowledged that while some applicants successfully registered, many others encountered technical difficulties, leading to widespread calls for an extension.

In an advertisement published in two national newspapers and shared on Monday, the FCSC confirmed that the new deadline was implemented to ensure a fair process for all eligible candidates.

FCSC Urges Qualified Nigerians to Apply

“The Federal Civil Service Commission has extended the closing date for receiving applications for various vacancies in the Federal Civil Service to Monday, March 17, 2025, to allow more eligible candidates to participate in the exercise,” the statement read.

The FCSC also confirmed that updated information is now available on its official website (www.fedcivilservice.gov.ng), as well as in The Sun, The Nation, and Daily Trust newspapers.

The Commission urged qualified Nigerians to take advantage of the extension and assured applicants that the recruitment process would be merit-driven and transparent.
