Easter: Tinubu Urges Nigerians to Embrace Hope, Unity Amid Challenges

As Christians across the country mark Easter, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on Nigerians to embrace the values of hope, unity, and renewal, drawing parallels between the resurrection of Jesus Christ and Nigeria’s national journey toward peace and prosperity.

In his Easter message released on Friday, Tinubu described the season as the “cornerstone of the Christian faith,” symbolizing sacrifice, redemption, and unwavering hope.

“As President of our blessed nation, I draw inspiration from this timeless message of hope and renewal,” he said. “I remain steadfast in my commitment to delivering the promise of a Renewed Hope — a better, more just, and prosperous Nigeria for all.”

Reassurance Amid Insecurity and Economic Strain

Addressing the country’s recent security challenges, President Tinubu expressed deep sorrow over tragic incidents and assured citizens that restoring peace remains a top priority for his administration.

“I understand the pain and fear these incidents have caused,” he said. “Let me assure you that my administration’s resolve to restore peace and security remains unshakable. The forces of evil will never prevail over our country.”

He emphasized that Nigeria’s Armed Forces and security agencies have been directed to act “decisively and without delay” in securing the nation.

On the economic front, Tinubu acknowledged the burden many Nigerians continue to bear, promising ongoing efforts to stabilize and rebuild the economy.

“We are working tirelessly to restore investor confidence, stabilise key sectors, and build an inclusive economy that serves the interests of all Nigerians,” he noted.

Global Solidarity and Spiritual Reflection

President Tinubu also extended his goodwill to the global Christian community, particularly expressing gratitude for Pope Francis’s recovery, praying that the pontiff’s renewed strength continues to inspire global leadership and service.

In closing, he urged Nigerians not to lose sight of the nation’s potential, even amid difficult times.

“Just as Christ triumphed over death, so too shall our country triumph over every challenge we face,” he said. “The present moment may be cloudy, but it will usher in a glorious day.”

“May the risen Christ bless our homes with peace and our nation with continued unity and prosperity. Happy Easter to all my fellow Nigerians,” the President concluded.
