Lagos, Nigeria – Renowned Nigerian Christian filmmaker and founder of Mount Zion Faith Ministries, Pastor Mike Bamiloye, has issued a stark warning as Nigerians join the world in celebrating Valentine’s Day.
In a message shared on his Instagram page on Friday, Bamiloye claimed that the day of love could bring about spiritual consequences, particularly for young women. He warned that some could fall victim to money rituals, while others may unknowingly engage in spiritual covenants.
“Many would sleep on the same bed tonight with ghosts and spirits from demonic kingdoms who had come to make vows and covenants with the sons and daughters of men,” Bamiloye wrote. He further cautioned that “blood would flow tonight… Fluids of men shall be submitted tonight in the shrines of the evil kingdom.”
The filmmaker also expressed concern about the impact on young women, alleging that “the fortunes and destinies of many young girls and ladies would end up tonight in shrines of money rituals.” He warned that this could lead to a loss of purpose and fulfillment, leaving many feeling “empty and shallow” the next day.
Bamiloye’s comments have sparked conversations online, with some echoing his concerns about the spiritual implications of Valentine’s Day celebrations. Others have criticized his statements as overly dramatic and fear-mongering.
His warning comes as various organizations, including health agencies, have marked Valentine’s Day by promoting safe practices. In Osun State, for instance, health officials distributed condoms to encourage safe sex. Meanwhile, other religious leaders have also weighed in on the celebration, with some calling for its outright ban, citing cultural and moral concerns.
As debates continue, Bamiloye’s message serves as a reminder of the complex cultural and spiritual narratives surrounding Valentine’s Day in Nigeria.
