Harvesters Pastor Denies N1.5bn Fraud Allegations, Asserts Innocence

The Lead Pastor of Harvesters International Christian Center, Pastor Bolaji Idowu, has firmly denied allegations of fraud and money laundering amounting to N1.5 billion, maintaining his innocence during a “Next Level Prayers” session on Wednesday.

The pastor’s response comes after reports circulated that he was arrested and is under investigation by the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) of the Nigerian Police for alleged financial crimes.

Addressing his congregation and the public, Pastor Idowu said, “Over the last 24 hours, there’s been a lot of news about me on social media. I just want to state some facts clearly.”

The allegations have sparked significant attention on social media, with some questioning the pastor’s financial dealings. However, Pastor Idowu used the prayer session to reaffirm his commitment to transparency and address the accusations head-on.

Further developments on the investigation are awaited, as both the Nigerian Police and Pastor Idowu’s representatives are yet to release detailed statements.

The situation has added to the growing conversation around accountability and public trust in religious and financial dealings within Nigeria.
