IGP Egbetokun Launches NPF Insurance Co. Ltd to Boost Police Welfare and Public Services

The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has announced the launch of NPF Insurance Co. Ltd, a pioneering initiative aimed at safeguarding the welfare of police personnel while extending comprehensive insurance services to Nigerians.

Speaking on the development, IGP Egbetokun described the initiative as a significant milestone in bolstering financial security for officers who risk their lives to uphold law and order. He emphasized the dual focus of the company: supporting police personnel and providing tailored insurance solutions to the general public.

According to Force Public Relations Officer ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the initiative reflects the Nigeria Police Force’s (NPF) commitment to improving officer welfare and fostering public trust in its mission to enhance national security.

“This underscores the Force’s dedication to its officers’ well-being while offering innovative insurance products that serve the broader Nigerian populace,” the statement noted.

The unveiling event, scheduled for Monday, December 23, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in the Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Peacekeeping Hall, Force Headquarters, Abuja, will feature prominent dignitaries. Among them are the Honourable Minister of Police Affairs, Senator Ibrahim Gaidam; Executive Governors of the 36 states; the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike; lawmakers; and the Chairman of the Police Service Commission, DIG Hashimu Argungu (retd.).

IGP Egbetokun commended the Board of Directors of NPF Insurance Co. Ltd, chaired by AIG Olufemi Adenaike (retd.), for their efforts in realizing this vision. He highlighted the company as a critical step in bridging the gap between police welfare and public insurance services, positioning the NPF as a leader in integrating security and financial stability.

“The NPF Insurance Co. Ltd is set to redefine Nigeria’s insurance landscape with innovative solutions that cater to the evolving needs of police officers and the public,” Egbetokun added.

The initiative underscores the NPF’s proactive approach to national security, aligning officer welfare with the financial well-being of Nigerians, thereby fostering a safer and more prosperous nation.
