Kogi State Officials Voluntarily Report to EFCC Headquarters

The Kogi State Government has announced that two of its officials are currently at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Headquarters in Abuja.

In a statement issued on Monday, State Information Commissioner Kingsley Fanwo confirmed that the officials decided to report voluntarily, despite not receiving an official invitation from the EFCC.

The statement reads, “We have not been informed of the specific allegations against the officials, but it is likely related to ongoing investigations involving current and former government officials.”

Fanwo emphasized that the officials’ voluntary reporting underscores the Kogi State Government’s commitment to transparency and cooperation with lawful investigations. He added, “We hope that the EFCC will conduct its investigations professionally. As a government, we are always prepared to collaborate with anti-graft agencies to demonstrate our transparency and maintain the confidence of our development partners.”

The Kogi State Government remains committed to cooperating with the EFCC to uphold its reputation for transparency, accountability, and probity.
