LASAA Reaffirms Commitment to Visual Order, Public Safety During Lawmakers’ Oversight Visit

The Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency (LASAA) has reiterated its commitment to maintaining visual order and ensuring public safety across the state during an oversight visit by members of the Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Environment.

The committee, led by its Chairman, Hon. Shabi Adekola, visited LASAA’s headquarters as part of its statutory oversight function to assess the agency’s operations, performance, and adherence to regulatory standards.

In a statement released after the visit, LASAA said the engagement provided a platform for robust discussions on its achievements, policy direction, and ongoing projects aimed at creating a more organised and visually appealing outdoor advertising landscape in Lagos.

Managing Director of LASAA, Prince Fatiu Akiolu, expressed appreciation to the lawmakers for their continued support and constructive feedback.

“We are deeply committed to upholding best practices in outdoor advertising regulation,” Akiolu said. “Our mission remains to contribute meaningfully to the sustainable development of Lagos State’s visual environment for the benefit of all residents and visitors.”

In his remarks, Hon. Adekola commended LASAA’s operational efficiency and praised the agency for maintaining a cleaner and safer Lagos through effective signage control and enforcement under Akiolu’s leadership.

He stressed the importance of continuous collaboration between the legislature and state agencies to ensure accountability and efficient service delivery.

“We recognise LASAA’s vital role in keeping Lagos clean and safe,” Adekola said. “Partnership between the legislature and government agencies is essential to deliver services that align with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES+ agenda.”

The committee chairman also urged LASAA to intensify its public sensitisation efforts, noting that increased awareness of the agency’s mandate would improve compliance and boost internally generated revenue.

He added that regular communication with the public was essential to assure residents that outdoor advertising structures are maintained with integrity and meet safety standards.

The oversight visit reaffirmed the shared commitment of both the legislature and LASAA to promoting transparency, innovation, and efficiency in public service delivery, contributing to a safer, cleaner, and more visually coordinated Lagos.
