New Christmas-Themed Film Alert: Evia Simon, Saheed Apanpa cooking something

Nollywood is set to experience a powerful creative boost as celebrated actor, producer, and entrepreneur Evia Simon officially transitions her filmmaking operations to Lagos, the heartbeat of Nigeria’s entertainment industry. Known for her versatility, resilience, and entrepreneurial spirit, Simon born Eveshoyan Simon is the visionary behind Eviaconcepts Entertainment, Evialuxuryworld Boutique, Eviasimon TV, FilmVillage TV, and the humanitarian-driven Eviasimon Foundation.

A graduate of the University of Abuja with a B.Sc. in Public Administration, Simon’s personal journey is one of exceptional determination. Rising from the challenges of orphanhood and the responsibility of raising her siblings, she has built a flourishing multi-venture empire while establishing herself as a rising force in Nollywood.

After years of successful production work in Abuja and Asaba, Simon is now strategically positioning her craft in Lagos to access broader opportunities, collaborate with top-tier creatives, and pursue the breakthrough she has long envisioned.

“Lagos is the heart of movie making in Nigeria quality, connections, and career growth all thrive here,” she said. “This move is a big step for me, and I believe it will open new doors as an actor and producer.”

Simon acknowledges that relocating comes with notable differences, “Shooting in Lagos is more expensive and less comfortable than Abuja because it’s not my home base,” she shared. “But the creativity, energy, and production quality you get in Lagos are incomparable. It truly feels like the right place for filmmaking, even if your pocket reminds you of the cost.”

In addition to filmmaking, Simon runs a thriving clothing business. An area she admits is challenging to manage alongside production, “Balancing both is not easy,” she noted. “Fashion and film both require creativity, innovation, and strong management skills. When I’m on set, my business suffers a bit because nothing compares to when the owner is around.”

She adds that both industries demand tight deadlines, strategic planning, and a strong aesthetic vision. Simon believes strongly in the contributions of women producers in the industry, “Women producers are passionate and intentional about making good films. More women are taking up production today, and many are doing exceptionally well,” she said.

Simon is passionate about creating films that are rich in creativity and driven by collaboration with imaginative minds, “I love making films that stand out stories that are meaningful and produced with creative synergy,” she emphasized.

“Fashion inspires me. It influences my attention to detail, visual storytelling, and creativity behind the camera,” she explained. Looking ahead, Simon plans to scale her brand significantly, “In the next two to three years, I want to grow bigger produce more creative, beautiful films, and expand my business beyond its current reach. I want to be one of the biggest producers in the industry,” she stated.

Simon has announced an exciting new Christmas-themed film titled “Santa’s Love Gift to Me”; a thrilling, original story centered on love, betrayal, competition, greed, and the coming together of individuals from diverse backgrounds, all set during the festive season.

“It’s a story that has never been done before,” she revealed. “We’re about to create magic for viewers. I’m confident audiences will love it.”

The film features a star-studded lineup including:
Ray Emodi, Bryan Okwara, Kachi Innochiri, Chinyere Wilfred, Evia Simon, Jennifer Nnoruga, among other notable actors.

“The cast was carefully selected to ensure each actor fits their role perfectly and brings the story to life,” Simon said. The project will be directed by renowned filmmaker Saheed Apanpa, known for his creative skill and strong directorial vision.

“Saheed Apanpa is a household name in the industry,” Simon remarked. “When I told him about the Christmas script, he said, ‘Evia Simon, bring it let’s create magic.’ I trust him completely to deliver the best.”

Evia Simon is a Nigerian actor, producer, entrepreneur, and philanthropist. She is the founder of multiple businesses across fashion, entertainment, and humanitarian causes.
