Nigerian Army Intensifies Operations, Reports Successes Against Terrorism

In a recent address in Makurdi, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Taoreed Lagbaja, announced that troops have intensified military operations across various regions of Nigeria. This initiative has resulted in the neutralization of several terrorists and their leaders, as well as the rescue of abducted Nigerians.

Represented by Major General Hilary Nzan, Commander of the 4 Special Force Command, Lagbaja highlighted the restoration of socio-economic activities in crisis-ridden communities, enabling many internally displaced persons to return home. He noted that these operations have also positively impacted crude oil production and food security by facilitating safe farming practices through patrols.

Additionally, the Chief of Army Staff emphasized the importance of effective communication between the military and the media, urging journalists to report responsibly and accurately to enhance public trust. He acknowledged ongoing challenges in this relationship but stressed the need for open dialogue to counter misinformation.

Lagbaja’s remarks come amid a commitment to improve logistics and support for troops while addressing recent human-made and natural disasters, demonstrating the army’s readiness to respond effectively to crises.
