NSCDC Deploys 2,160 Personnel Ahead of President Tinubu’s Visit to Katsina

The Katsina State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 2,160 personnel across the state in anticipation of President Bola Tinubu’s two-day working visit beginning Friday.

State Commandant Aminu Ahmad announced the deployment during a strategic meeting with senior management officers held Thursday at the NSCDC headquarters in Katsina.

President Tinubu is expected to commission two key infrastructural projects executed by the administration of Governor Dikko Umar Radda — the Eastern Bypass dual carriageway and the Agricultural Mechanisation Centre in Tashar Bala — as part of the visit.

Commandant Ahmad directed that personnel be strategically stationed at all critical locations, including project sites, the airport, Usman Bin Affan Mosque in Modoji, and other areas of public interest across the metropolis.

He also mandated the deployment of both overt and covert operatives to sensitive areas, urging coordinated efforts to ensure watertight security throughout the President’s stay.

“Personnel deployed must be very professional and synergise with other security agencies to ensure adequate security,” Ahmad said.

Heads of Departments, Area Commanders, Divisional Officers, Unit Commanders, OC Outposts, and Special Forces were tasked with overseeing patrols, monitoring deployments, and maintaining operational discipline throughout the visit.

Ahmad further emphasized the importance of civility, professionalism, and dedication to duty, urging officers to uphold the corps’ core values during the high-profile event.

President Tinubu’s visit marks his latest engagement with key states across the country as part of his administration’s efforts to promote infrastructure development and agricultural innovation.
