Ondo Police Enforce Movement Restrictions for Local Government Election, Warns Against Miscreants

The Ondo State Police Command has announced a restriction on vehicular and motorcycle movement across the state from 6am to 4pm this Saturday, in preparation for the upcoming local government election. The decision, which aims to ensure security during the election process, was made public in a statement issued by the state’s police commissioner, Mr. Wilfred Afolabi.

Commuters passing through the state have been advised to adjust their travel plans accordingly. Essential service providers such as security personnel, health workers, and firefighters will be allowed unrestricted movement, while emergency situations will be given special consideration.

The police have also urged voters to adhere to electoral guidelines while carrying out their civic duties. The commissioner warned would-be miscreants against causing disruptions, assuring that security measures are in place to prevent any form of election-related violence.

“We are fully prepared to maintain peace and ensure a smooth election process,” Afolabi said.
