Two-Storey Building Collapses in Orile Iganmu, Lagos, No Casualties Reported

A two-storey building on Amusu Street, Orile Iganmu, Lagos, collapsed in the early hours of Monday, sparking panic among nearby residents. The building crumbled around 8:45 am, as confirmed by Mr. Nosa Okunbor, Head of Public Affairs at the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA). Fortunately, no casualties were reported, as the building had been evacuated before the collapse.

LASEMA’s Response Teams were on-site conducting a search and rescue operation. While there were no injuries, emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene to assess the situation and prevent further damage.

This collapse follows other incidents in Lagos, including a four-story building collapse in May and a boys’ quarters cave-in in July, raising concerns about building safety across the state.
