Bayern Munich have confirmed that Canadian left-back Alphonso Davies has resumed ball training, five months after suffering a torn ACL while on international duty.
The 24-year-old sustained the knee injury in March during Canada’s Nations League third-place playoff against the United States.
“Alphonso Davies was able to train again with the ball on Monday,” Bayern said in a club statement.
Davies had already returned to light individual training last month and is now on track for a potential return to competitive action in October.
The pacey full-back, who also captains the Canadian national team, signed a contract extension with Bayern Munich in February that keeps him at the club until 2030.
Injury Updates at Bayern
While Davies edges closer to full fitness, Bayern continue to monitor other injury concerns. Forward Jamal Musiala is not expected to return from a broken ankle until 2026, while defender Hiroki Ito could be back from a foot injury before the end of the year.
Bayern will be hoping Davies’ recovery boosts their campaign as they look to challenge domestically and in Europe this season.
